History:

- The left claims of the National Union of Popular Forces (NUPF) and the violent reaction of the state against the protesting leaders made the party evolve, and the current SUPF was created in 1975.

- Omar BENJELLOUN, one of the party’s founders and an important trade union militant was assassinated the same year, on December 18th.

- The party leaders were arrested in 1981 with those of the Democratic Confederation for Work, their building was besieged and the SUPF’ press prohibited after the general strike due to the price rise of elementary food products.

- In 1998, the alternation government was formed by his majesty late Hassan II, with on its head Abderrahman YOUSSOUFI, the general secretary of the SUPF. And that was the announcement of a new era.

Political orientations:

The SUPF is a left party. Despite its progressist ideas and a call to equality and social justice, its speech remains moderate enough for a socialist party.

• Driss LACHGAR (President of the Parliamentary Group of the party and a blogger ).

Program headlines:

• The economic growth is on the top of the list, by encouraging production and innovation and by developing traditional sectors (agriculture, fishing, craft industry…).
• Responding to social claims is also a major concern of the party: reviewing the educational system, health and sport, while defending Moroccan cultural specificities (developing the Amazigh language for example), and improving the management of public funds…

• For a social cohesion, working for: the retirement system, youth, women’s rights….

Moroccans are given a rendez-vous on September 7th, for a major event in the political Moroccan scene: The legislative elections. A new government will be born, we will have a brand new prime minister, and much more. Nonetheless, many of us, Moroccan citizens, do not know much about the thirty political parties that are vying for seats and competing with each other to get our votes.
Campaigning started only last Saturday, and on Agadir-Souss, we are planning to introduce each party briefly through presenting these information:

We would like to remind you that our respective backgrounds in the Agadir-Souss team do not permit us to have a real technical speech and deep analysis of the political scene. However, we will just try to be as objective as possible, and welcome our readers to interact with us.

Thank you in advance.

The introduction of this website explains that its pages are not exclusively about the Jewish community of Agadir, nor do they [pages] represent this community by any means. This website is for people of all beliefs, gadiri-born or adopted, locals or visitors. It concerns all those who love the city of Agadir.

CommunauteJuiveAgadir.com has a number of videos and a large gallery of pictures. And it has special categories of pictures of Agadir before the earthquake that destructed the city in 1960, of that year, and of the pearl that Agadir has become today.

CJA suggests to welcome you to their pages with some music, and songs about Agadir particularly. But I should also mention that they welcome you by some pop-up windows as well :-/. I wish they had less ads, that their forum works and that they change their design a little bit. Otherwise, the content is interesting.

We checked all the pictures and videos on CJA, and picked this video for you.
